🏛️ 7 Pillars for a 95+ ATAR (GUARANTEED)

This is all you need...

The majority of students are confused with what they need to have nailed down in order to score a 95+ ATAR.

And so, they go about each day trying their ‘best’ and hoping for great results…only to continuously perform poorly in their assessment tasks.

They think it’s because they’re stupid, dumb, go to a bad school, their subjects aren’t good, teachers are bad…and whatever else they come up with!

Day after day, they hope for a sudden miracle that they’re going to improve…and without even noticing…BOOM — they end up scoring a low ATAR.

I will not let this happen to you!

Thankfully, through my experience of going from D-student to 97+ ATAR, I’ve concluded that there are 7 pillars you need to have to achieve ANY ATAR you desire.

Let’s go through each of those pillars today!

Table of Contents

Pillar #1 Mindset

The underlying beliefs and attitudes that shape one’s thoughts, behaviours and response to challenges.

Your mindset is the foundation of all your success.

Without a strong, growth mindset…you simply cannot score a high ATAR.

Why?

Because your mindset leads to your thoughts, which lead to your feelings, which lead to your beliefs, which leads to your actions…which ultimately leads to your results.

Put simply:

  • Mindset → Thoughts → Feelings → Beliefs → Actions → Results

Your mindset directly affects your academic results…and most of you have a terrible mindset right now.

You have limiting beliefs.

You don’t truly believe you can succeed.

You think you’re ‘not a math-type of person’

You think that others are smarter than you.

You believe your school is going to affect you…

And the list just goes on.

If you are letting these thoughts and beliefs roam in your head and take control over you…then your behaviour is going to be affected.

You’re not going to be able to study as much. You won’t be able to challenge yourself. You won’t be able to get back up when you fall.

These are all the side effects of a poor mindset.

I can talk about mindset all day…so I’ll stop here.

FIX. YOUR. MINDSET!

Pillar #2 Learn how to study!!

95% of students are studying completely wrong.

And I don’t blame them. Our own schools don’t teach us how to study!

Do you often put in the work during your studies, walk into the exam…and just not be able to answer any questions?

Or maybe, have you ever thought you did well in an exam…yet when you got your results back they were bad?

If your answer is ‘yes’ to the above…then that’s a great sign you’re studying wrong.

If you study primarily by:

  • Taking notes

  • Highlighting

  • Rereading

  • Watching videos

Then you’re studying ineffectively. I’m sorry, but that’s the truth.

You won’t be able to score a 95+ ATAR if you study like the above.

So, LEARN HOW TO STUDY!

I have a YouTube video on this, so I’d highly recommend you watch it (CLICK HERE)

Pillar #3 Get and Stay Ahead

Don’t ever rely on your teachers or school for your own education and learning.

Don’t stay with the class…get ahead of the class!

✅ Benefits of getting ahead:

  1. You’re learning the content multiple times — once at home, second at school

  2. You’re able to comfortably take your time understanding complex topics — this removes the whole ‘can’t keep up with the class’ problem

  3. You’re able to grind out practice questions, fail fast and improve fast — getting ahead means you have more time to make mistakes and correct those mistakes before an exam

there are too many benefits to list out. Just get ahead and you’ll see all of them manifest!

Honestly, if I had relied on my teachers for my own learning…I would have not achieved the success that I did. It’s just not possible.

Get ahead, even if it’s just by 1 dot point!

Pillar #4 Combine Motivation and Discipline

Motivation = drive that makes individuals want to take action, pursue their goals and respond in the face of challenges

Discipline = the ability to get stuff done, regardless of how you’re feeling!

Combine the motivation that you have to score a high ATAR with discipline.

This may be hard to do and it does take practice.

However, when you combine your motivation for wanting to achieve a high ATAR with your discipline…then you truly become unstoppable.

You become obsessed with the goal.

And when you’re obsessed with the goal…you destroy everyone!

Pillar #5 Develop a strict routine & build good habits

Develop a morning, evening, study and night routine that you follow each day.

By doing this, you’re going to be 10X more productive because you won’t have to ask ‘What do I do now?’

  • After waking up → follow morning routine.

  • After school → follow evening routine.

  • Before studying → follow study routine.

  • Before sleeping → follow night routine.

Without a routine, you’re following your ‘gut’ and desires each day…which usually means wasting time.

Once you’ve formed a good routine, you also need to get rid of those bad habits you have and form good ones!

  1. Write down all the bad habits you have

  2. Remove those

  3. Adopt good habits (examples include studying everyday, reading, meditating, journalling, exercising, etc)

Developing a routine and forming good habits will set you apart from the crowd!

Productivity does NOT stop with school. Be a productive person, not just a productive student.

Pillar #6 It’s all about the ranking…

This pillar is a subtle, yet very important one.

Prioritise your ranking in school, as that’s the thing that really matters.

Many students focus on their assessment marks, instead of the rank.

I’ve had many students tell me that they’re ‘not doing so well’ because they got 70%. However, I later find out that they’ve ranked top 5!

It’s better to score 80% with a top 5 rank, than 90% with a low rank.

Pillar #7 Set Goals, Plan and Envision your success.

This is such a BIG pillar that all low-performing students are neglecting!

If you are not planning each day/week and have no clear goals…then it’s as if you have a blindfold on!

Each day will be an accident for you. Nothing is calculated. There is no predictability in your days.

And do you know what happens when you don’t have a plan?

You procrastinate.

You waste time.

You feel stressed and overwhelmed.

✅ So, from today:

  • Plan your entire week (Monday to Sunday)

  • Plan each day

  • Set clear goals! (ATAR, uni, career, assessment marks/ranks, etc)

After you’ve done the above, practice visualisation.

  • Close your eyes

  • Vividly picture yourself putting in the work, overcoming obstacles, being stress-free and ultimately achieving your desired ATAR!

  • Do this everyday for as long as you feel is necessary.

This will help reframe your thoughts and shift your focus to positivity, rather than negativity.

These are truly the 7 pillars for a 95+ ATAR…guaranteed.

Yes, there are many more things to talk about, but I condensed everything into just 7 things…and this is what I’ve come up with.

So, take action and stop making excuses.

Remember, nothing is stopping you from achieving success except you!

It’s not your school, subjects or current grades.

I may sound like a broken record at this point…but it’s important to mention as we humans need to be reminded more than we need to be taught.

Have a productive week!
